I’ve always had an affinity for anything to do with Cunard as my Uncle Larry worked for them for years. So I was so excited when I found this shelf stacked up with a pile of other nondescript wood shelves in Savers thrift shop. It looked old, but when I turned it over I was so excited to see “Queen May” engraved on the bottom. Then I saw “Petty Officers and Engineers” engraved on the back and was even more thrilled. The Queen Mary is docked in Long Beach, a couple of towns north of us, but I have no idea how this shelf came to land at Savers. Anyway, I purchased it for $5. Due to space constraints, I didn’t have it long before I sold it, but I do have the photos to keep me company.
