322 McLean Street, Nottoway, VA 23922
I don’t know about you, but I think the realtor got a couple of things wrong about this Virginia home under $30,000. I wouldn’t call it a Craftsman, and I definitely think it was built before 1949. In any case, a gem is still a gem. Located next door to a quaint church, the four-bedroom, 1.5-bath home has a nice lot, outbuilding, original front door and great front porch. High ceilings, plenty of built-ins, front and back staircases, pocket doors, original trim, doors and lighting fixtures, hardwood floors and transoms are wonderful interior features. The windows with the diamonds on the top remind me of the windows in my old house. Note how the diamond theme carries through to the living room built-ins. Multiple fireplaces grace the home, but unfortunately some mantels have been stripped from the house.
Sure, it needs a lot of work. But think what a beautiful home you would have with paint and elbow grease!
As per the realtor: “Welcome to 322 McLean Street! This is an investor opportunity to renovate a classic Craftsman home. The home’s interior is loaded with original details such as 9+ foot ceilings, pocket doors, built in cabinets and bookcases, wide trim and mouldings, original panel doors with transoms above, beautiful staircase, and rich oak hardwood flooring. The exterior features a classic Southern front porch with columns and beadboard ceiling, large windows, slate roof, fenced rear yard and a detached garage. This is a triple, corner lot in an area of newer and renovated homes. This is a solid investment for the price and ready for its new life!”
