312 Capital Ave NE, Battle Creek, MI 49017
It seems you can pick up wonderful old homes in Battle Creek for a song. I featured several Battle Creek beauties back in February that were priced as low as $8500. The city does have its problems, but this circa 1900 brick Victorian is on a street that boasts some really grand old homes. Take the time to look at the realtor’s street view to see what I mean. Consider the stone foundation and unique windows, and then get a load of the magnificent staircase with second-floor balcony. French doors, pocket doors, high ceilings, original trim, doors and hardware, plus brand new, tasteful lighting fixtures and updated kitchen and bath make you scratch your head and think, “$22,000?” Unbelievable, right?
The realtor’s take: “This is a cool big ol’building! This beautiful historical home is just waiting for the finishing touches. This would make a beautiful single family, multi-family home or business! There has been a lot of work done to bring it to code as a single family home. NEW water heater, all new plumbing, NEW Pellet stove heating and NEW roof including deck boards. You’ll also find new light fixtures, new baths, new laundry upstairs near bedrooms, new kitchen with open floor plan and snack bar and new flooring.”
