849 Mohawk Dr, Tribes Hill, NY 12068
3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, .54 Acre
NY Fixer Upper $50,000
This circa 1780 colonial is located on more than a half acre on a country road. If you take a look at the aerial view, you’ll see a concrete abutment. That is train tracks. Behind the tracks is the Mohawk River, and behind the river is New York State Thruway 90. I mention that because traffic noise can travel, and many people are not keen on trains running near their homes. We have a second old home in Indiana with nearby railroad tracks, and we love sitting on our front porch rockers watching the twice-daily train slowly go by. Not everyone feels the same way.
The home’s low ceilings would bother me, though. And I’m not sure if those beams are original. What do you think? I love, however, the way the two old trees in the front yard frame the house, don’t you?
“Looking for 237 year old house to restore or remodel then take a look at this home. Large rooms with many opportunities for reworking the floor plan. If you are looking for a home with a lot of room and large living space at a great price, then don’t miss this.” as per the realtor.
