Google Map this property, and you’ll find it has a lovely rural setting on a knoll overlooking a pond. Despite the realtor’s construction date of 1900, the home was actually built in 1847 (tax records don’t go back further than 1900). The second owner was General George Gibrell who purchased it near the end of the Civil War. You’ll note that some of the lighting fixtures are original Gasaleers that were converted to electric.
As per the realtor. “Large Historic Plantation type home on 1.75 Acres with partial basement, 6 possible bedrooms, 6 fireplaces, and so many possibilities! Lots of original character, several upgrades and renovations over the years but in need of several repairs and renovations.”

Call me a fixer upper fanatic. My husband and I have owned and restored a 1910 Folk Victorian on Long Island, an 1880's farmhouse on 15 acres in Schoharie County, New York, and a 1915 American Foursquare in beautiful Cape May, New Jersey. We currently live part-time in Huntington Beach, California, and are working on our 1930 retirement bungalow in Indiana. Old houses touch our souls.
