Alabama Fixer with Acreage Under $50,000

This week I’ve been featuring homes in the areas of the country that have not been hit as hard by the Arctic Blast as much of the rest of the US. This circa 1848 bungalow sits on two acres in the small town of Camden, Alabama. Population around 2,000, the town was heavily damaged during the Civil War and then by fires in 1869 and 1870. The town has seen an economic decline in recent years, and its town square isn’t much to look at, but nearby streets boast lovely antebellum and Reconstruction-era architecture, pretty white churches and older homes.

As per the realtor. “Located on Broad Street close to downtown Camden, this home needs love and it can become a treasure!!! It offers two living areas, large eat-in-kitchen and downstairs are two Bedrooms, with one upstairs. The property includes a 1 Bedroom Apartment joined with open patio. Come see this home and be sure to notice the ancient Magnolias either side of the walkway! Current taxes: $349.47.”
