There are just so many original details to admire about this circa 1885 Virginia Victorian foreclosure. Firstly, it’s amazing that a lot of the exterior fretwork, double front doors with transom with the house number, and the windows that reach to the floor are still intact. Okay, so much of the original woodwork has been painted, but the staircase, hardwood floors, fireplace mantels, original doors and trim, high ceilings, beadboard wainscoting, clawfoot tubs and pedestal sinks are nothing to sneeze at. I’m imagining what I would do with the front entrance space. This home could really be something!

Call me a fixer upper fanatic. My husband and I have owned and restored a 1910 Folk Victorian on Long Island, an 1880's farmhouse on 15 acres in Schoharie County, New York, and a 1915 American Foursquare in beautiful Cape May, New Jersey. We currently live part-time in Huntington Beach, California, and are working on our 1930 retirement bungalow in Indiana. Old houses touch our souls.
