As per the listing:
“Built in 1869, Cleveland’s Methodist Church has been a community landmark for nearly 150 years. Its features include seating for 200, an alcove, stained glass windows, and oak pews. The original bell remains in working order in the tower. In 1994, with dwindling numbers attending and 135 good years of service to the community, the congregation decided the time had come to disband. They held their final Sunday service in August 1994 and deeded the property to the historical society. After 20 years of providing tours and ecumenical services, Le Sueur County Historical Society is offering the property with the goal of attracting an active congregation or a new business to Cleveland’s historic landmark. The church is ready to begin a new chapter as a useful building in the community.”
