477 Chestnut Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980

Waynesboro is a lovely town in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, less than five miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive and the Appalachian Trail. Some major employers are located in town, and recreational opportunities abound in this area. Chestnut Avenue is situated in the historic district of town amidst great older homes with views of the mountains in the distance. Unfortunately, number 477 Chestnut Avenue has suffered a major water burst, which is reflected in the price. You will note a few before and after photos that show the damage. It appears as if this home was almost a showpiece until the pipe imploded. I tend to concentrate on the before photos, however, that showcase this circa 1910 home’s beauty. Consider the full front porch with original front door with sidelights and transom. It opens into a large foyer with a grand staircase and hardwood floors. Notice the fretwork in the hall and those stunning room divider columns. In addition to the water damage, work needed includes an electrical overhaul and an updated kitchen.
