557 Main St., Leesburg, NJ 08327
I’m throwing this one out there because of its price tag and its location, just 30 minutes from Jersey Shore beaches. Leesburg, New Jersey, is a charming little fishing village with quite a few older homes. It’s located near the Delaware Bay and Maurice River. I know this town well, as my son went house shopping here a few years back. Homes prices here have come down since then, but the taxes have not. That’s what dissuaded him from purchasing here. Expect to pay almost $4,000 or more in real estate taxes in this area for even a $30,000 fixer upper. With a $29,900 price tag, however, this home could be manageable. It’s in a lovely setting, but does require quite a bit of work. Built in 1901, this style home is typical of many older homes in South Jersey. Note the screened-in porch, pleasant yard and wood floors. It’s bank owned and has been on the market for a year now, so perhaps the bank is ready to deal.
