Kentucky seems to be the number one place to find amazing older homes under $50,000 – in move-in condition no less. This circa 1938 home is situated in Clinton, a rural town of about 1,300 people. The rest of the house has newer windows, but take a gander at those original front diamond windows! The porch is fantastic, as is the large pleasant yard and that stone patio in the back. The owners seem to have an affinity for sponge painted walls, and it’s a bit disconcerting that there are no photos of the kitchen, but the rest of the house looks great. I love the staircase and the fireplaces, each with a varying style. Did you notice the hardwood floors, built-ins and the arched doorway? What more could you want in a house priced at under $50,000?
Here’s the realtor’s take. “This lovely historic home features 3 bedrooms 1 and half bath, Family Rm, Living Rm, dining Rm Formal living Rm which could be a 4th bedroom, Kitchen, Sitting rm, and a bath on the main floor. 3 Bedrooms and half bath upstairs. 2 fireplaces 1 is gas the other is nonfunctional. The roof is 6 months old, new windows except the front are original. Wood floors, updated paint , patio in the back with extra large lot. Close to school perfect for a growing family, lots of room to play.”
