600 Church St. Clifton Forge, VA 24422
Looking over my shoulder as I was on the computer perusing listings, my two daughters yelled, “Stop!” when they spied the photo of this pretty in pink foursquare. They unanimously decided they want to live here, in this five-bedroom, 4-bath gem in the beautiful Allegheny Highlands of Virginia. I have to admit, it’s very tempting. Virginia is one of my favorite states, and this circa 1897 is simply stunning. A beautiful front porch and sleeping porch, striking 20-over-one windows and original front door with transom really make this house stand out. You walk into a lovely foyer with columns separating it from the parlor. Gorgeous fireplace mantels in almost every room, hardwood floors, high ceilings and original doors, trim and hardware are ready for refreshing. The main kitchen needs a complete overhaul, but the good thing is there’s a second kitchen that can be used in the meantime.
Here’s what the realtor has to say. “Magnificent Victorian Era Home Waiting to be Restored to It*s Former Glory. Large Rooms Throughout, Five Bedrooms, Four Full Baths, Large Rooms, 4,000 Square Feet. Located Easy Walking Distance to Downtown Clifton Forge. Ideal Home For a B&B. Or Separate Former Live In Servant Quarters with the Fifth Bedroom, Fourth Full Bath and Second Kitchen Could be Used For Apartment Rental.”
