$100K Sunday – c.1910 Colonial Revival – Cheap House in West Virginia $84K
OHU50K Notes $84,000
Built before 1910 (established by US Census records), this is a three bedroom, 1.5 bath Colonial Revival. The cheap house in West Virginia has a two-car detached garage with alley access. The interior of the home has unpainted woodwork, diamond windows, window seat, pocket doors, colonnades, and a beautiful old fireplace mantel with benches that could be considered an inglenook. (The stone fireplace is a later redo). I especially love the staircase!

Family History
Ben E. Hamilton built and lived in this home with his wife Jennie and daughter Eleanor. Ben was a brick contractor. He must have been a successful businessman, because in the 1910 U.S. Census, the family had a servant woman living in the home. By 1920, however, he moved out of this home and changed his business to a jewelry shop owner.
