1930s Mansion Interior Salvage Sale – Date TBD – End of June

OHU50K Notes

This might be of interest to some of you. A Lake Bluff, Illinois, mansion interior salvage sale is planned for the end of June.

My husband and I have spent countless weekends salvaging wonderful architectural elements from Jersey Shore tear-downs, nothing as spectacular as what this mansion has, but the elements sure made an impact on our house. When we purchased our 1915 foursquare, the pocket doors were cut in half, colonnades and bookcase built-ins had been removed and replaced with olive green plexiglass, ceilings dropped and a host of other “improvements” needed to be remedied. We found what we needed at the demo sales, and our home looks like it did it 1915 again.
