Seller Comments

We are selling our 1970 Kayot 38 Pontoon Houseboat. When purchased from the original owner, we renovated and updated the entire boat with a number of improvements (in 2017). -New interior flooring -New electrical, batteries and charger -New decking -New lighting throughout -Water Heater -New paint, outside and inside -Two new air-conditioning units (bottom and top) -New porcelain head, and refinished sink, and new bathroom walls -New quartz kitchen countertop, new cast-iron sink, and subway tile backsplash -New cabinet pulls and faucets -New double-pane windows throughout, as well as a new large sliding door up front -Custom window treatments -Added a futon and storage -New full bed upstairs -Custom aluminum structural reinforcement for the ‘box’ upstairs. Items to note: -The original steel pontoons were replaced by the previous owner with polyethylene rounds. These are more durable and stable for the boat. -The engine is an old Johnson 48hp 2-stroke engine. This engine will need to be serviced before it’s run, I have not started it up in a couple years. It was last professionally serviced in 2018. We’re selling the boat because we’ve got young kids and aren’t using it as much as we used to.

  • 48hp 2-stroke engine

❌ Cons

1. High Crime Rates

  • Stockton has struggled with crime, particularly property and violent crime. While improvements have been made, safety remains a concern in certain areas.

2. Strained Infrastructure

  • Rapid growth and limited investment have left parts of the city with aging roads, underfunded public services, and traffic congestion.

3. Education Challenges

  • Some local public schools have lower performance ratings, which can be a drawback for families with school-aged children.

4. Economic Inequality

  • Despite economic growth, Stockton has pockets of poverty and limited upward mobility for some residents.

5. Hot, Dry Summers

  • The climate includes long, hot summers, which may be a downside if you prefer cooler, coastal weather.
