OHU50K NOTES. $28,000 Sold on 7/20/22
Here is a fixer upper foursquare in an interesting little place called Blue Rapids, Kansas (pop. 1,010). The town, located in northeast Kansas near the junction of the Little Blue and Big Blue rivers, claims to be the smallest town in America to have hosted a national league baseball game. In 1913, 3,000 fans watched the Chicago White Sox vs. the New York Giants at the local ball field at Riverside Park that is still in use today.
Blue Rapids is also the birthplace of the pancreatic cancer drug Streptozotocin. Bacterium from which Streptozotocin is derived was discovered in the 1950s in a soil sample taken from grassland at Blue Rapids.
