Family History
Benjamin and Myrtle Miller owned this home from the 1930s to the 1950s. The childless couple sometimes rented a room out to boarders to supplement Ben’s income as a mechanic for a truck factory. I am sure Myrtle was none too happy with her husband’s careless driving when, in 1949, he failed to yield at an intersection causing his wife to suffer a broken collar bone right before the holidays and right at the time Myrtle’s 89 year-old mother, Annie Beardsley, came to live with them. Annie died five years later in the home.
