Circa 1919 Iowa Handyman Special Under $40K – Sold
OHU50K NOTES. $39,900 Sold For $26,000 on 8/15/22
It is a handyman special now, but when Nellie Lock and her husband had the house built, it was a place to show off to her church friends with its stained glass windows, grand fireplace with flanking glass-front bookcases, charming staircase and hardwood floors. Nellie would be dismayed to see that someone absconded with her dining room built-in.

Family History
Mr. George E. Lock had this Craftsman bungalow built for his family around 1919. His wife, Nellie, often hosted events in the home for the Quid Libet Society of the First Congregational Church. George was a busy man who owned both a billiards hall and a drug store. The couple resided here with their daughter Marjorie. After George passed away, mother and daughter moved to Los Angeles in the late 1930s.
