Family History
This was the home of Henry Nickel (1859-1943) and his wife, Aubrey, from its build date. Henry owned a bakery in town. The couple had two children, Elsie and Virgil. The home was passed down to Elsie and her husband, Marshall Sowers, a carpentry instructor for the U.S. Navy. They lived in the home with their children, Vivian and Geraldine until about 1950.
