This is the Amos Armsby House built in 1812 by Amos Armsby. Known locally as the Red House on the Hill or the House of Seven Hearths, the house features a wealth of original features that have been well preserved. It will take a professional, however, to do this home justice with a sympathetic restoration.
Amos Armsby (1781-1840) was born in Massachusetts. He married Margaret Fletcher (1785-1835) in 1807, and the couple had two or three children. Amos was a master carpenter, town officer and a sergeant during the War of 1812. After he sold the house in 1825, it looks like the family moved to Illinois.

    I’ve been in love with this house FOREVER!!!!! I cannot believe it’s still available, no one has snatched it up and
    restored it’s beauty…………it’s a gem.
