This was the home of Sam Doss. Sam Moss was constable of Randolph County. He began his career as a beat cop. As constable, (locals referred to him as “Sheriff”) Sam was involved in a number of cases ranging from stolen tires to a murder case where a foreigner was hit in the head by a hatchet.
