WOW! What a beauty, not the least of which that tiled bathroom. I haven’t been to Jamestown, but I can vouch for Pennsylvania being a treasure trove of gorgeous old houses at affordable prices. The items to consider when househunting for this kind of bargain are 1) brace yourself for high property taxes and a lot of regulations like having to buy a permit to build a privacy fence, 2) the general personality type of the populace (read Niche reviews, etc), 3) surrounding topography (Jamestown, PA is famous for a historic flood, so make sure you’re not buying in the food zone, and 4) commute times to employment opportunities. I found a lovely home in PA for under $40k and fixed it up, so the items I list are from my actual experience. The rust belt is THE place to find a dream home if you’re resourceful, pragmatic, and flexible. Summers are getting warmer and winters are getting milder. I love it here.
