Family History
Charles Killian Persinger (1893-1991) had this home built for his family in 1926 and lived there until 1955. He had married his wife Grace Brown (1897-1983) 10 years earlier in 1916, and the couple raised their children, Delores and Harold, in this home. With only an 8th grade education, Charles worked as a foundry molder for Beckett Bronze and retired in 1960. The Persingers were active in their church, and Grace enjoyed hosting events in the home for the Mayflower Club.
Their son Harold was a US Air Force cadet who was stationed in Mississippi. Sadly, in 1942 he died in a plane crash in Mississippi in service to his country. He was 22 years old.
