Built around 186o, the house was constructed by Leroy and Courtney Newton. The structure features two-stories made of rubble-filled concrete, covered in stucco. It includes a hipped roof topped by an octagonal wooden cupola.The construction was likely inspired by Orson Squire Fowlerโs 1848 book,ย The Octagon House: A Home for All, which promoted octagonal homes as more efficient, healthier, and cost-effective.ย
