68 Church St, Brownville, ME 04414   $23,500 ~ Off Market

OHU50K NOTES

For those looking for a property in a quaint, small town, here is a fixer upper on 1.5 acres in Brownville, Maine (pop. 1,250).

The town, located along the Pleasant River was named for Francis Brown, an early settler and mill owner. In fact, the very rear of the our featured property today backs up to the river with 320 feet of water frontage, but I couldn’t find an online flood plain map for Brownville. X  marks the spot of the property on the photo below.

For those who are strictly interested in homes with acreage, we have a new site up and running. Please “like” our Facebook page Country Life Dreams.

REALTOR COMMENTS

Lots of history and lots of potential! This fixer upper has character. Slate foundation and slate roof from the quarries that put Brownville on the map. Formal living room boasts gorgeous tin ceiling with a Franklin stove and brick hearth. Brand new bathroom remodeled in 2009 and never used. Generous 1.5 acre lot extends behind neighbors and all the way to Pleasant River for a whopping 320′ of water frontage. Many updates needed but the home is well-worth the work.
