OHU50K Notes

I believe this was the home of Thomas Markham Sr. (1844-1922) and Olivia Brett Markham (1852-1918). Mr. Markham was a carpenter for the shipyard, likely the one across the street. The Markhams owned the home from 1905 until sometime in the 1920s, a few years after Olivia died. They shared the residence with their adult children: Thomas, Jr., a patent attorney and U.S. Commissioner:  daughters Nettie and Florence, both sales women for a millinery shop: John, a machinist at the shipyard; and youngest daughter Mattie.

You might remember the William Weatherly House, pictured right next door, that we featured on OHU50K in June and is now under contract. The neighborhood might be undergoing revitalization!
