Family History

This originally was the home of Harry Yaw (1885-1951) and his wife Lena. Harry was the owner of several grocery and meat market stores, as well as a singer in his church choir and a Barbershop quartet. He also was an avid antique gun collector. Lena loved to entertain in the home. The couple lived in the home with their children, Kenneth, Charles, Alice and Elizabeth. As Harry’s fortunes increased, he moved into a larger home by 1940.
