Family History
This was the home of Joseph J. Haithcock (1828-1901) and his wife Susan Lancaster Haithcock (1833-1921). The couple married in 1854 and had children Mollie, Joe, Lucy, Susie, and Charles. Sadly, Susie died as an infant, and Lucy died before her sweet 16th birthday.
Mr. Haithcock was a shoemaker and Mrs. Haitcock a dressmaker. They were both highly esteemed in the community. When son Charlie became an adult, he was a tobacco picker, and son Joe a store clerk.
