Richeson
This home was built in 1831 for the John Brett Richeson (1818-1876) family, founders of the famed Rand-Richeson Academy. He was a merchant and lived here with his wife Eliza Coburn Richeson (1830-1899). The couple married in 1850 and raised their six children, Anna, Holt, Sue, Wilson, Mary Eliza and Edward, in this home.
Clooney
Andrew Clooney (1873-1947) subsequently purchased the home. He was the owner of a jewelry store and a mayor of Maysville. He lived in the home with his wife, Crescent Koch Clooney, his adult children and grandchildren, one of them Rosemary Clooney who became a singer and actress best know for the movie “White Christmas.”
