OHU50K NOTES
This fixer upper is located in Tama, Iowa (pop. 2,877). Before looking at the build date, I thought the main section of the house might be a foursquare. If the build date falls anywhere within four decades later than the 1856 stated date, then a foursquare it is not. The wide eaves, and that concave roof line throw me off, too. I threw out the idea that it might it have been an Italianate before a roof was added. Traveling the Google Map streets in town, I see no other Italianates. Also, the town was not founded until 1862, so the 1856 build date has to be incorrect. I’m telling you, vinyl siding desecrated any distinguishing elements on this one. Luckily, the interior woodwork is intact, but the built-ins indicate foursquare again. What do you think? There is another house in town that looks like a foursquare with wide eaves and that weird concave roof. I am confused, but what I do know is that the home is a fixer upper.

The roof are supposed to be shaped that way. That is a specific style of home. Many home are like that ( exact same style of roof) where I live.
