This was the home of Jessie Smith. Jessie King married William J. Smith(1860-1915)  in 1882. He was an optician and owner of a jewelry store on North Street,  where the family also lived. The couple had one son, Alexander, born in 1886. After William died in 1915, it appears the family moved to our featured home and lived there for decades. Jessie was a dressmaker, and Alexander became a coppersmith in a brass factory after he married his wife Edith.
