Family History
This was the home of Charles Swartz (1864-1924) and Viola Burroughs Swartz. The couple resided here with their children Ruby, Clyde, Charles and Margaret. Mr. Swartz was the owner of Burlington Grain Elevator for only a couple of month when it burned to the ground in 1906. After that, he was a cattle broker.
I don’t know how the 22-year old Ruby could lose a box of heavy books near her home, but it made the newspaper. I guess the family believed their fortunes might be improved in the West, so they moved to Pasadena, California, in 1922. Charles died in 1924. Sadly, an invalid at this point, Ruby passed away in Pasadena at the young age of 37 in 1929.

Twenty years would be $168,000. It says $52,000. At $700/ month it should only be 6 yrs of payments. If that’s the case I’d jump on it but not for 20 yrs.

I was calculating the total amount paid too, that’s crazy! Getting your own financing is totally best. This house is great! The possibilities are really increasible?
