OHU50K NOTES

In our Halloween tradition, here is a haunted house that sold for $100,000 not too long ago.

History

Talk about irony. Eddie Munster, played by Butch Patrick in the 1960’s TV series, “The Munsters,” owned a haunted house in Macon, Missouri.

Patrick purchased the property a few years back to save his grandmother’s Queen Anne Victorian from the wrecking ball. He did some work on the home with the dream of turning it into a haunted bed and breakfast and possibly a reality TV show.

Not because it’s supposedly a haunted house, but with only less than two months a year spent in Macon, Patrick decided to sell. The property still required a lot of work, but he sold it for $100,000.

Paranormal Activity

According to an interview with KFVS12 News, Patrick claimed the house may be haunted by the spirit of a woman whose father was murdered. Patrick had several paranormal experts inspect the house who indicated that it has a very active vortex and is home to 13 resident ghosts. Most are well-behaved.

Whether you believe this is a haunted house or not, you have to agree that this house is absolutely a gorgeous piece of architecture, and someone was lucky to have snatched it up.

What a lovely old home. It’s a shame it was sold. My husband and I are looking for an old home in Missouri for retirement that needs a little love. It looks like the new owners are bringing it back to life. Saving history.
