Family History

This was the home of John C. Guyer, (1857-1918). Mr. Guyer was a college graduate who married Dolly Wittier and then purchased this house about 1885. Mr. Guyer had his hands in several businesses, most notably the grocery firm of Guyer & Son. The Guyers had two children, Ezra and John Ray. Mr. Guyer died in the home of a stroke in 1918. John Ray (aka Ray) inherited the home and grocery firm and continued to live here with his wife, Wilhelmina, and their son Raymond, until about 1951 when Ray passed away.
