History

We know this home was originally the residence and office of a medical doctor. The blue room is where he saw his patients. Originally, the house plans were designed to have a third floor with a ballroom. A fire during construction put an end to that. The sunroom was added about 1910. In fact, many alterations were made between 1910 and 1920.

I can’t be sure, but I think this was the home of Dr. Robert W. Crothers (1833-1890). He was a surgeon and owner of a drug store. He lived in the home with his wife, Minerva Lillibridge Crothers (1835-1904).
