c.1880 Brick Fixer Upper 25 Miles from Cincy OH Under $50K ~ Off Market

303 Third St, Moscow, OH, 45153        $49,900 ~ Off Market

OHU50K NOTES

I wish I could find the history of this old house. The fixer upper was built in 1880 in Moscow, Ohio (pop. 185), a small, quiet village on the banks of the Ohio River just 25 miles east of downtown Cincinnati.
The town was once a busy boat harbor as well as a part of the Underground Railroad.  Over the years, the village has faced hardships such as river flooding and a major tornado in 2012 that destroyed 80% of the own. Several old structures of architectural and historical interest, however, still exist.
While the exterior of this home has much of its original charm, the interior has been drenched in white paint. It is a shame, because there are original hardwood floors, molding, mantels and doors that get ghosted under all that white.
Despite being in commuting distance to Cincy, which has a lot of jobs with prominent companies and a strong real estate market, the house seems overpriced for its condition and location so near to the river. What do you think?
