Family History

 Davis

This was the home James Alton Davis (1897-1857) and his wife Vivian Hinton Davis (1901-1975) from the 1930s to the 1970s. James was a Sheriff of Pike County for four years before becoming a traveling salesman for a candy company. The couple raised one son, Jimmie, here. I couldn’t find a photo of the Davis family, but below is their next door neighbor, Fred Andrews, with his horse Rex. Both the Andrew House and the Cunsen House are noted for their subdued use of decorative details.
