c.1890 Fixer Upper in Exira, IA Under $39K
300 S Carthage St, Exira, IA 50076 $38,500
Fixer Upper

OHU50K NOTES
When Exira was surveyed, there was not a single house on the town plat. The sale of lots took place on June 15 1857 when Judge Erik Eckman from Ohio agreed to purchase numerous parcels if the town was named after his daughter Exira. This house was built on the very first lot sold to the Eckmans. For many years in the early 1900s, Lincoln and MaryAkers occupied this large white home on the corner of Carthage and Depot Street. The family worked a farm outside of town but resided in this house with their children Otto, Byron, Trillby, Lincoln, Lilly, Winona, Frank and Alvie.
