This fixer upper is located on Sewell Street in Island Falls, Maine (pop. 837) , The street was named after William Sewell who built a house in town in 1865. A descendent of his, another William Sewell was friends with Theodore Roosevelt, who often came to visit. The Sewell house is still owned by the Sewell family and operates as a yoga retreat center at 1027 Crystal Road. Sadly, the caretakers of our featured home today did not stack up as well as stewards of a great old house.
