OHU50K NOTES

This c.1891 brick home is located in Hannibal Missouri’s Central Park Historic District. While I could not find the original owner of the home, I discovered that the neighborhood once had a particular concentration of businessmen and public officials. Mark Twain’s boyhood home is just a short 12-minute walk from this house. (See below)

The Central Park Historic District centers, of course, on the park, which encompasses a full block and boasts a cast-iron fountain, bandstand , war memorial and statue of William Henry Hatch, a U.S. Congressman and early advocate of the Department of Agriculture.

The crime rate in this neighborhood is not the best but is not the worst either. Taxes are low.
