Family History
This was the home of the Devorss family. Edwin Devorss was the shipping manager for a wholesale hardware company for 57 years. The whole family pitched in with the expenses of this home in which they lived from the 1910s to the 1940s. Edwin’s wife, Maggie, was a homemaker, daughter Pearl a public school teacher, and daughter a bookkeeper for the water company. Younger children also lived in the home, Edwin, Lloyd, Erma, and Jessup.
