OHU50K NOTES
This c.1897 fixer upper is located in the Grant Beach neighborhood of Springfield, Missouri. Grant Avenue is one block over, but where is the beach??
History
The “Beach” was tacked on to the name as there once was a 5-acre pond/swimming hole in the neighborhood surrounded by a sandy beach. Around the early part of the 1900s, Springfield’s park board purchased land for $10,000 that had been the site the old Ozark Woolen Company. The woolen company had moved to another location in 1873, the buildings fell into disrepair and the land was left for cattle for grazing. The 13.5 acreage had a small stream which the park board damned to build a swimming hole and ice skating pond. Sand was trucked in to create a beach, and up to 1,000 people daily would visit each summer. Decades later the beach at Grant Beach Park was turned into a swimming pool.

REALTOR COMMENTS – c.1897 Fixer Upper in Springfield MO Under $38K
The fixer upper home is back on the market at no fault of the seller. Don’t miss this investment opportunity! This 3 bed 2 bath home has so much potential with its great bones, character, and charm. This home is just waiting for someone to bring it back to life! Home sold as is. Please be cautious especially on the front porch and back deck.

I really wish there were more pictures! Nothing of a kitchen, fireplace or the other bathroom. I really would have like to have seen the fireplace.

For that price, assume it needs a kitchen and most everything else.
