Sometimes I feel so sad for these fixer uppers. This c.1897 fixer upper in Madisonville, Kentucky, doesn’t have many photos, but what there are indicate a house with extreme neglect and horrible modifications. A beautiful mantel, staircase and porch columns remain, but it likely will take too much money to restore this home.

I would bet that this house once had more land. It now looks awkward plunked in the midst of tiny bungalows.
