History

Price Hill was once a beautiful area. In its early days, many wealthy residents were attracted to the area. During the 21st century, however, highways were constructed and cut through inner city neighborhoods, causing low-income residents to migrate to outlying suburbs such as Price Hill while cars allowed wealthier residents to move farther away from the city. Today several community organizations are working toward bringing back Price Hill.

In the 1940s and ’50s this was the home of John Robb, a bottler at the brewing company, and his wife Freda. They lived here with their children Carl, Mary Cathleen and John Jr. John Jr. was hurt in a two-truck crash transporting students to a picnic in 1944. In the 1960s and early ’70s Edwin Knight owned the home. He passed away there.
