OHU50K NOTES
At least until the year 200, this Italianate housed Donalee’s Mercantile, a gift shop showcasing local crafters. The home was in great shape in 2000, even participating in a Victorian house tour.
In the 1930s to the 1950s, the Italianate was the home of the Kelley family. Asahel and Bessie Climer Kelley shared the home with their daughter Elizabeth. Asahel was an inspector for the US Post Office. In 1940, the home was valued at $6,ooo. That same year, per the 1940 US Census, Asahel, with two years of college behind him, made $2,200 at the post office. In 1946 Asahel’s sister passed away in Ohio and was brought back to this home on Meridian Street where funeral services were performed.

REALTOR COMMENTS
Grand, historic 2 story Victorian Italianate home with wrap around front porch boasting just under 3500 total square feet! A large array of renovation materials already in the home are included in the sale, many of which have not been removed from the wrapping when purchased.

Circa 1900? What… person wrote this preçis? Surely, it’s ~50 years older than that

Realtors use 1900 as the default when they don’t know the actual build date. Italianates saw their heyday from 1840-1885. I’d put it as 1875 or so.

Why they leave every thing behind…. there is a ghost or paranormal activity in this house?
