History

This home belonged to Robert Latimer, a conductor for the West Penn Railroad, and his wife, Ethel Frances Stewart Latimer, in the early 1900s. The couple resided here with their children Robert Jr., Ethel, Helen, Mary, John and William. A lodger, a  locomotive fireman, also rented a room. Sadly, Robert Sr. died in this home in 1921 at the age of 34 after a long illness. His wife remarried a couple of years later, and by 1930 was living in Detroit, Michigan, with her new husband, Arthur Knott, her children, and two of Knott’s sons.
