OHU50K NOTES
I love it when I find little snippets of information about the occupants of a house. The clips tell a story. I did not include all the clips, but the Hubbells owned the house in the early 1950s. William Hubbell was a general contractor whose son’s bike was stolen from city hall. Perhaps that inspired the Hubbells to sell the house to Sheldon Bross , principal of Dixon High School, and his wife in 1955. Could be that principal Bross procured a better job elsewhere, because they only lived here for a year, then sold the home to Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Nelson. After that, a long series of residents made 1010 Highland Avenue home.
