Family History

This was the home of Henry William Plambeck (1865-1935). Henry was a well-known hardware store owner, plumbing and heating contractor and board member of Moline banks. He married Mary Elizabeth Staack in 1891 (1868-1944), and the couple had one daughter, Alice. Henry’s funeral was held in the home in 1935. Mary continued to live in the home until her death in 1944, along with her daughter Alice, Alice’s husband and their daughter. Upon Mary’s death in 1944, Alice inherited the home, but soon after sold it and moved to San Francisco. The home then became McCarthy’s Rest Home “for elderly ladies.”
