Family History
This was the home of Celsus Lamb (1860-1922). He lived in this home with his wife, Mary, and daughter, Dorothy. Mr. Lamb was the editor and publisher of the Parson Daily Eclipse for 47 years. Born in Maine, his family moved to the mid-west in 1868 after his father served as a surgeon in the Civil War. The elder Mr. Lamb bought a printing plant in Parsons, and in 1880 the Parsons Daily Eclipse became a daily newspaper with Celsus as editor and publisher. Celsus was known as a kind-hearted man. He died in the home of diabetes in 1922.
