c.1902 North Carolina Fixer Upper Reduced to $40K ~ Sold

There are so many elements of this fixer upper that appeals to an old house lover like myself who is attracted to linoleum rugs, antique lighting fixtures, nooks and crannies, and clawfoot tubs.  Even the 1950s plywood kitchen cupboards with black, wrought iron hardware can be appealing. That’s when high-end plywood was available.

The piece de resistance, however, are the double second-story balconies. We don’t see that very often on houses at this price point. The house has many issues, however, not the least of which are no heat, no AC and no electric hookup.

Low taxes, and less than a two-hour drive to the beaches of the Outer Banks are pluses.
